Kto som? / Who am I?

Volám sa Michal Chúpek a pochádzam z malebnej obce Prečín v severozápadnej časti Slovenska, južne od Žiliny v okrese Považská Bystrica. Som aktívny spevák v mužskom speváckom zbore Mužáci Moravia. Vyštudoval som obchodnú akadémiu v Považskej Bystrici a v súčastnosti pracujem pre kórejskú spoločnosť zaoberajúcou sa automobilovým priemyslom. 

My name is Michal Chúpek and I came from the picturesque village of Prečín in the northwestern part of Slovakia, south of Žilina in the district of Považská Bystrica. I'm an active singer in the male singing ensemble Mužáci Moravia (The Men of Moravia). I graduated from the Business Academy in Považská Bystrica and I am currently working for a Korean company dealing with the automotive industry.

Umelecký život / Artistic life

Som ústretový a priateľský človek, čo sa snažím vštepovať aj do svojho okolia, medzi priateľov a známych a som rád, keď veci idú ľahko ako po masle. Venujem sa organizovaniu spoločenských udalostí, istý čas som sa venoval aj zberu historických fotografií našej obce (dnes ich mám okolo 1000), zorganizoval som verejnú výstavu týchto fotiek, viedol som školu folklórneho tanca a hrám na heligónke. Spievam v mužskom zbore a dávnejšie som navštevoval miestny folklórny súbor. Prakticky od narodenia spievam a to ma drží dodnes. Cez hudbu vnímam pozitívny svet, a tak najnovšie pedagogicky vypomáham aj v miestnom speváckom zbore dospelých v katolíckej Cirkvi. V minulosti som aj tancoval, no dnes sa tancu už nevenujem.

I am a helpful and friendly person, who is trying this emotion to get into his surroundings, friends, and acquaintances, and I like it when things go easy as is possible. I have been organizing social events, for a while I have also been collecting historical photographs of our village (today I have about 1000 pieces of them), I organized a public exhibition of these photos and I led a school of folk dance. I am playing on the heligon (diatonic accordion). I sing in men ensemble and I have been visiting a local folklore ensemble before. Practically since birth, I have been singing and still keeps me. Through the music, I feel the positive world and therefore, I recognized to start help pedagogically in the local singing ensemble of adults in the Catholic Church. In the past, I also danced, but now I'm not dancing anymore.

Ja & LONDÝN / Me & LONDON

Moje prvé kroky do Londýna smerovali za prácou a víziou lepšieho života. Vydržal som tu pol roka a odvtedy sa do Londýna vraciam už len na dovolenky. A to dosť často. Našiel som si tu priateľov - moju druhú rodinu, radi spolu zdieľame spoločný čas a popri tom som sa naučil množstvo užitočných informácií o meste. Tu začali moje predstavy o tom, ako môj obľúbený Londýn predstavím svojim priateľom z domova. Pochodil som veľa ulíc, atrakcií a mojím relaxom sa stalo spoznávanie Londýna. Špeciálnu väzbu, hoci ostatných to vždy prekvapí, som začal venovať metro mape, jej detailom, prepojeniam a na základe toho som začal veľmi rýchlo rozumieť, ako sa dá prechádzať Londýnom veľmi rýchlo. Preto nie je žiadnou zvláštnosťou, že u mňa doma je metro mapa Londýna na každom kroku. 

My first steps to London were heading for work and a vision of a better life. I stayed here for half a year, and since then I have been returning to London for holiday only. Quite often. I found there new friends - my second family and we like to share the time together. I started to learn a lot of useful information about the city. Here began my ideas on how to introduce my favorite London to my friends from home. I have traveled many streets, attractions, and my relaxation has become an exploring of London. The special bond, although other people always are surprised, I started to like much the metro (tube) map, its details, connections, and on this basis, I began to understand in a short time how to move through London very quickly. Therefore, it is no wonder that the metro map of London is in many places at my home.

Ako vznikol tento WEB... / How this website was created...

Ako tak som začal do Londýna vodiť svojich kamarátov a predstavovať im toto nádherné miesto, začal som si všímať, aký sú radi, keď ich sprevádzam a pomáham im stihnúť v Londýne toho čo najviac, nakoľko zpočiatku je tu každý doslova stratený. Po poslednej návšteve som sa rozhodol urobiť si prieskum v mojom okolí, ako by ľudia vnímali osobného sprievodcu na výlete do Londýna. Asi 90 % reakcií bolo, že je to veľmi nápomocné a zvyšní respondenti odpovedali že nápad je to dobrý, no sami by to nevyužili, nakoľko majú radi spoznávanie na vlastnú päsť. A tak som sa rozhodol založiť tento web...

As I started to go to London with my friends and guide them in this wonderful place, I started to look at their faces, how they are glad of my help, how I catch many things in London in short time with them, because everybody is lost there at the first moment. After the last visit, I decided to do a survey of my surroundings, if people would like to take a personal guide on a trip to London. About 90% of the responses were that it is a very helpful idea, and the rest respondents replied that the idea is good, but they will not use it because they like to travel on their own. So I decided to begin creating this site ...
